THE British Music Society of York presents the return of the Sacconi String Quartet in a pre-Christmas recital tonight at the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall, University of York.
Noted for its energy and integrity of interpretation, the Sacconi continues to perform with its four founder members, Ben Hancox and Hannah Dawson on violins, Robin Ashwell on viola and Cara Berridge on cello.
The 8pm programme comprises Beethoven’s Quartet in D, Smetana’s Quartet No 1 in E minor, From My Life, and Dvorak’s Quartet in F, American. Tickets: £13, students £5, on 01904 704052 or bms-york.org.uk or on the door.
