BRIDLINGTON played host to Oasis with only 3,500 lucky people getting the chance to see the band.

The Spa is one of the smallest venues the band has ever played and was a warm-up gig ahead of the headline slot at the forthcoming V Festival.

Jo Clarke, sales and customer services manager at The Spa Bridlington, said: “This was the biggest and best rock concert to come to Bridlington in the Spa’s lifetime and from the minute the band came on the roar of the crowd was amazing.

“They sang all their hits, starting their set with Rock And Roll Star and playing through to I Am The Walrus which was their second encore.

“They went on at 9pm and stayed on stage untl 10.35pm.

She said the comments from the crowd showed that people were amazed to be in a room of that size with a band of that magnitude.

She said: “People who had seen them up and down the country were saying that this was the best venue they had been at because they were so close that they felt they could reach out and touch them rather than watching them on a screen.”

"Hopefully the success of this gig will open all sorts of doors for other massive acts to come to Bridlington.”
