DUTCH jazz and pop singer Caroline Esmeralda van der Leeuw has added an extra tour date at York Barbican on November 3. Who is she, you ask?

You might just know her better as Caro Emerald, the stage name she first adopted in July 2009 and has never looked back since. Caro released her multi-platinum debut album Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor in 2010, as she and producers Grandmono fashioned their own niche, blending retro jazz with sampling and modern pop.

Her second album, The Shocking Miss Emerald, entered the British charts at number one in May 2013, remaining in the listings for an entire year en route to 2.5 million sales. Last year brought the Emerald Island EP, in reality a six-track mini-album, featuring Tahitian Skies, The Ghost Of You, Never Ever, Exotic Flu, Whatchugot and The Dark.

The autumn tour comes in the wake of Caro's Emerald Island tour earlier this year. Tickets for York are on sale at £28.55, £42.55, £55.99 and VIP ticket of £111.43 on 0844 854 2757, at yorkbarbican.co.uk or in person from the Barbican box office.

Caro Emerald's tour also takes in a second North Yorkshire show, the Harrogate International Centre on October 6.
