DAVID Gest Limited has news both bad and good concerning the upcoming David Gest's Soul Legends tour.

Bad, first. "Due to circumstance beyond our control, The Legacy tour has been delayed," say the organisers. "The good news is that the tour will be back on track from October 15 at Sheffield City Hall."

The York Barbican date moves from March 2 to November 8 and Hull City Hall's new night will be November 6. Original tickets remain valid for these autumn shows; ticket holders requiring a refund should contact their point of purchase.

David Gest Limited says: "This is a huge project encompassing a lot of legends. To ensure that this ambitious project is realised we’ve needed to reschedule the tour to autumn 2018. We have a fantastic mix of timeless artists and cannot wait to bring this unique show to life.

"We remain incredibly grateful for all the loyalty, patience and support fans of the late David Gest and the amazing artists have shown us. The tour will continue to support charities close to David’s heart. We thank you again for your understanding."

Introduced by Pearly Gates of The Flirtations, The Legacy Tour will feature Bradford's Kiki Dee, who has her place in pop history as first British female singer to sign to Motown's Tamla Records label in the motor city of Detroit. Taking part too will be Mary Wilson, founding member of The Supremes; Dorothy Moore; Sheila Ferguson, from The Three Degrees; Leee John, of Imagination; Freda Payne; Fern Kinney; Junior Giscombe and GC Cameron, of The Spinners and formerly of The Temptations.
