CELEBRATED actress Anne Reid and her musical director Jason Carr present an evening of songs and stories, music and memories in York this weekend.

Recollections of filming with Daniel Craig, performing Shakespeare at Buckingham Palace and making Sally Wainwright's television series Last Tango In Halifax with Sir Derek Jacobi will share centre stage with Reid's cabaret songs.

Reid, 82, has starred in Coronation Street, Ladies Of Letters, Dinnerladies and The Mother, as well as Last Tango In Halifax, and while her cabaret turn may be less well known, she has sold out numerous locations in London over the past two years and has now embarked on a British tour.

Past performances have featured such songs as Stephen Sondheim’s The Road You Didn’t Take and What Do We Do? We Fly!; Ray Jessel’s paean to Broadway's greatest musicals, Wanna Sing A Show Tune; Amanda McBroom's Errol Flynn; The Way We Were; Once Upon A Time; How Could You Believe Me and More I Cannot Wish You.

Tickets for saturday's 7.30pm concert at York Theatre Royal are on sale at £21 on 01904 623568 or at yorktheatreroyal.co.uk
