SINGER and songwriter Al Goodwin returns to his home city of York on December 5 to play an intimate acoustic show at The Basement at City Screen.

"I'm so pleased my old musical sidekick and Rough Mixer Dave Freeney will be on stage with me, and I'll have a couple of other special guests too," says Al. "I do hope old friends and fans from York will come out and help us fill the wonderful Basement."

Al's latest single, All Colours Shine, has notched up more than 10,000 streams on Spotify at youtu.be/wbHp4H3gRnU. "It’s all gone very well since I ventured out as a singer-songwriter," he says. "I have U2’s production and mastering team on board and I'm doing well with radio airplay, mainly in the United States."

Looking forward to his York homecoming, Al says: "We'll be performing my album Birth Death And In Between, along with other recent and pending releases. Oh and we could slip in a couple of covers too."

Tickets for Up Close And Personal With Al Goodwin & Dave Freeney are on sale at £7 picturehouses.com/cinema/York or £10 on the door from 8pm.
