YORK singer-songwriter Benjamin Francis Leftwich has switched tomorrow night's gig in Leeds to The Wardrobe, in St Peter's Square, Quarry Hill, as part of his nine-date British tour before he heads to mainland Europe.

Ben, 27, who now lives in North London, will be promoting his sophomore album, After The Rain, released last month by Dirty Hit Records as the long-awaited follow-up to his 2011debut, Last Smoke Before The Snowstorm.

Ben's Leeds gig initially was announced for Stylus in the Leeds University Union for a tour that runs from September 21 to October 1 and tickets remain valid for the new location. Equally, more are available at LeedsTickets.com or on the door from 7pm.

Ever the observant songwriter with a tattoo that urges him to "Stay Curious", Ben's album is rooted in the death of his father Adrian, a University of York lecturer in politics and international relations, in April 2013. "Not every song on the album is about that in particular, but it's something that doesn't ever go away and that's part of the process of dealing with loss. It's not something fixed," he says.

"I don't see a distinction between my personal life and my musical life, as what happened affects everything in my life and there have been some moments that have been amazing but others that haven't. I'm a different person now to when I was touring at 19/20."
