FORMER Keane lead singer Tom Chaplin will release his debut solo album, The Wave, on October 14 on Island Records.

Written by Chaplin and produced by Aqualung's Matt Hales, the new studio set will be his first material since Keane bade farewell after 16 years with The Best Of Keane in November 2013.

The track listing will be Still Waiting, Hardened Heart, The River, Worthless Words, I Remember You, Bring The Rain, Hold On To Our Love, first single  Quicksand, Solid Gold, See It So Clear and The Wave.

The Wave will be showcased at eight intimate autumn dates in Chaplin's first shows in almost four years, for which he has assembled a band of multi-instrumentalists, able to switch what they play as the richly layered songs demand.

Joining the Hastings-born singer on his debut solo travels will be musical director, drummer and programmer Sebastian Sternberg; violin, synth and guitar player Rosie Langley; classically trained pianist and violinist Tobie Tripp and guitar, synth and piano player Beau Holland.

The one Yorkshire gig will be at Leeds City Varieties on October 26. Tickets go on sale on Wednesday at 9.30am at gigst.rs/tomchaplin and cityvarieties.co.uk or on 0113 243 0808.
