YORK Unitarians' Occasional Fridays concert series welcomes Ruth and James Sanderson, on violin and piano, on August 12 at 12.30pm.

The brother and sister duo, from York, will be performing music by Kreisler, Mozart and Grieg at York Unitarian Chapel, St Saviourgate, York, in their lunchtime programme.

Ruth began learning the violin aged two and by the time she went to Birmingham University to read Music and Mathematics she had achieved Grade VIII in voice, flute, piano and violin. She is now a Masters performance student at the Royal Northern College of Music, studying with Steve Wilkie, and during her first year she has taken up the viola and the bassoon.
