THIS is not for the faint hearted. Fat White Family's melodies might be run of the mill, but their content is far from treading the same path.

A peek at the track titles should be enough to convince you of that. Covering domestic assaults, serial killing and fascism, the meanings of Duce, Lebensraum (sung in German) and Goodbye Goebbels, an Adolf Hitler farewell ode to his old colleague, cannot be in doubt.

Ironically, while their lyrics are designed to shock, their music does anything but, merely ploughing a fairly pedestrian theme of monotonous rhythm.

So while their stated intention is to make your skin crawl, the aural equivalent of a Jeremy Kyle TV show no less, it largely does the opposite. It's hard to stun a modern-day audience, brought up on diets of cartoon violence and Call Of Duty marathons. Instead, their efforts feel utterly desperate; perhaps the biggest condemnation they can receive.
