REEF are to play Fibbers in York on March 18 on their spring tour as their return grows stronger and stronger.

Since the arrival of Jesse Wood on guitar in April 2014, the rock band with Glastonbury roots reckon they have become better than ever.

They released a live album that year, Live From Metropolis Studios, their last recordings to feature original guitarist Kenwyn House.

A second live album, Live At St Ives, will be issued next month, recorded over two sold-out nights at the St Ives Guildhall last autumn.

The set mixed inspired new songs with all the Reef favourites, plus a rousing cover of Aretha Franklin's gospel classic, How I Got Over, which will be released as a single next month tpp.

At the controls was legendary Los Angeles producer George Drakoulias, who simultaneously recaptured and updated the sound of the band's multi million-selling number one album, Glow, one of three studio records he produced for Reef.

Reef have appeared on the revived TFI Friday and BBC1's The One Show, featuring in a six-minute piece in the Story Of The Song section, where the band revisited, re-played and told the story behind Place Your Hands, in the company of Drakoulias.

In the line-up in York will be Gary Stringer, vocals, Jesse Wood, guitar, Jack Bessant, bass, and Dominic Greensmith, drums. Tickets cost £17.50 on 0844 477 1000 or at fibbers.co.uk/live-events/detail/reef/
