LEAVE Me Alone might be an off-putting title but don't let that typically teenage distancing tactic dissuade you from discovering this ramshackle, whimsical indie Spanish twist on Riot Grrrl garage rock.

Hinds mean business on this gloriously brattish debut of punky psychedelic pop that draws equally on Phil Spector's echoing wall of sound and The Velvet Underground's spiky guitar swagger.

Forced to switch their name from Deers to Hinds, there is no other concession by the assertive Madrid foursome of Carlotta Cosials, Ana Garcia Perrote, Ade Martin and Amber Grimbergen, whose lyrics have a waspish sting to complement their loose, loud and yet lovely noise that is at once boisterous and cocksure cool.

Apparently, their lo-fi charm is influenced by American garage acts Mac DeMarco, Ty Segall and The Black Lips but these dozen songs, "representing the 12 faces of love we've experienced", echo more vintage pop days, from New York City's The Shangri-Las to Edinburgh's The Shop Assistants, with their timeless combination of the playful and the sad.
