Under-14s must be accompanied by an adult and a maximum of six tickets can be bought per person. Bookings for all three gigs can be made at gigsandtours.com, ticketmaster.co.uk or ticketline.co.uk. Doors will open at 6.30pm on the Hull night.

Morrissey, former frontman of The Smiths, has just played a triumphant show at New York’s Madison Square Garden as part of an American tour, having graced British arenas in March, when Leeds First Direct Arena was among the six shows on his first full British itinerary since 2011.

His autobiography, helpfully called Autobiography, was published by Penguin Classics in October 2013, selling 110,000 copies in its first week and spending five weeks at number one. His latest solo album, World Peace Is None Of Your Business, charted at number two last July, giving him his 12th Top Ten entry in the British charts.

A revival of prime form after the turgid dirges of 2009’s Years Of Refusal, the record was produced in France by Joe Chiccarell, benefiting too from Morrissey being accompanied by new recruit Gustavo Manzur on flamenco guitar as he mused across 12 tracks on such themes as Istanbul, KFC, China, social injustice, bullfighting, the environment, children, kissing and mortality, in the wake of his scrape with serious illness.
