ELVIS act Gordon Hendricks's new tribute show, Aloha From Hawaii, says aloha to York on Friday, November 7, replete with 20 musicians and singers at the Grand Opera House.
Hendricks, the 2011 European Elvis Champion, has long had a dream to replicate Elvis Presley's Aloha From Hawaii show, the 1973 one that was beamed via satellite from the island of Oahu, Honolulu and reputedly seen by one and a half billion people worldwide.
"My presentation is close to the original with a full Jose Guercio sound-alike orchestra, complete with The Sweet Inspirations, JD Sumner and the Stamps Quartet, not forgetting Elvis's lady soprano Kathy Westmoreland," says Hendricks.
Hendricks is on the crest of an Elvis wave after being crowned the 2014 Collingwood Grand Champion in Canada at the world’s largest Elvis festival.
His latest Elvis show arrives in Britain after being launched to mark last year's 40th anniversary of Aloha From Hawaii.
Tickets for the 7.30pm performance in York cost £23 to £29.50 on 0844 871 3024 or at atgtickets.com/york
