GENIAL North Easterner Martin Stephenson And The Daintees are on tour playing their classic second album, 1988’s Gladsome Humour And Blue, in its entirety.

“It might even be in the right order,” promises Martin, who brings his band to The Duchess in York tonight to perform the likes of There Comes A Time, Slaughterman, The Wait, The Old Church Is Still Standing and Wholly Humble Heart .

Gladsome Humour And Blue made number 39 in the album charts, 52-year-old Stephenson’s highest ever placing in a prolific career spanning folk, ragtime, jazz, rockabilly, show tunes, punk-pop and country that stretches to 40 albums.
