KAISER Chiefs will have a Valentine's Day date in their home city next year after signing up to play Leeds First Direct Arena on February 14, one of only two British arena shows in 2015 for the Yorkshire band.

Tickets go on sale at £19.50 upwards tomorrow at 9am on 0844 248 1585 or at firstdirectarena.com or in person from the box office in Trinity Leeds Customer Service Lounge. Already, fans can access a pre-sale ticket line at kaiserchiefs.com

Kaiser Chiefs first performed at the First Direct Arena last September, since when lead singer Ricky Wilson has been boosting his profile as a mentor on BBC1's pop talent show The Voice.

The direct reward has come with the resurgence of his indie-rock band, whose fifth studio album, Education, Education, Education & War, entered the British charts at number one earlier this month and retained top spot for a second week.

"Two weeks at the top! We haven't been here for a while; it feels fantastic," said the band. "Thanks to everyone who stuck by us. It's been emotional."

Looking forward to their home-crowd return, bassist Simon Rix says: "It's a great time for the Leeds music scene; there's a lot going on right now. We're so happy to be able to play the new Arena again; nothing can match the support we get from the Yorkshire crowds."

Kaiser Chiefs have a busy summer ahead, playing Doncaster Racecourse after the June 28 race card at the Town Moor track, as well as V Festival, T in the Park and Glastonbury, European dates and a North American tour. Next year's second arena show will be at the London O2 Arena on February 13.

Wherever they play in the months ahead, their set list will feature populist anthems I Predict A Riot, Everyday I Love You Less And Less, Oh My God and Ruby and latest single Coming Home.

"The last few months have been great," says Wilson. "We're enjoying playing the new album and getting our songs ready for our festival slots and then, to top it off, we get to start next year in London and Leeds."

The revitalised Kaiser Chiefs will be performing on the road with a line-up of lead vocalist Wilson, bassist Rix, guitarist Andrew "Whitey" White, keyboard player Nick "Peanut" Baines and drummer Vijay Mistry, who has taken over the sticks from departed songwriter Nick Hodgson.

The Kaisers are one of three bands booked for race-day concerts at Doncaster Racecourse this summer. Status Quo will perform after racing on May 17 and James Blunt on August 16.
