A team of young York film-makers attended the city’s first screening of their award-winning film at York Explore Library Learning Centre.
The crew entered Film Nation: Shorts – a competition for 14-25 years olds which forms part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad programme.
The young people devised, shot and edited The People’s Big Book Of Inspiration which tells the story of a boy who finds a magical book whose pages are alive with activities and hobbies which embody the values of the Olympic Games.
The film was announced winner of the Best Animation category (14-16 year olds) in October 2011 at an awards ceremony in East London.
Part of the prize will be having the film shown at London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games venues and on big screens at live sites in UK cities as part of the Cultural Olympiad.
