YORK has a new addition to its long list of cinemas: the National Railway Museum in Leeman Road.
Tonight, the NRM will play host to its first ever drive-in-movie, and which edifying film has been chosen? Why, Danny Boyle’s light and fluffy junkie jaunt Trainspotting, of course.
Yes, that gritty, anti-social trawl through Edinburgh’s heroin culture of the 1980s, adapted from Irvine Welsh’s scatological novel in 1996 with a cast of Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller, Robert Carlyle and Kelly Macdonald.
Doors will open at 18.30pm and the pitch-black Scottish comedy that became an international cultural phenomenon will be shown at 8.30pm in the North Yard. Limited places are available; tickets cost £10 per car in advance on 01904 685724 or £15 per car on the evening.
Please note, ID may be requested for this 18-rated film. Onsite catering will be available.
