WARNER Bros Pictures and City Screen, York celebrate the release of Mad Max: Fury Road in cinemas on May 14 by offering you the chance to win a Mad Max canvas water bottle, bumper stickers, T-shirt, distressed hat and torn car flag.

From director George Miller, originator of the post-apocalyptic genre and mastermind behind the legendary Mad Max franchise, comes Mad Max: Fury Road, a return to the world of the Road Warrior, Max Rockatansky.

Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max (Tom Hardy) believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa (Charlize Theron). They are escaping a Citadel tyrannised by the Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.

City Screen will be screening Mad Max: Fury Road from May 14 and will whet the appetite for Mad Max’s return on the night before, as marketing manager Dave Taylor reveals: “As well as the new movie, we shall be showing a double bill of 1979’s Mad Max and 1981’s Mad Max 2 on Wednesday, May 13, starting at 6.45pm. It’s going to be a stormer of an evening.”

Tickets can be booked on 0871 902 5726 or at picturehouses.co.uk/cinema/york
