THE 35th anniversary of the death of Maria Callas, the 20th century’s greatest opera diva, will be marked with an exhibition at Banks Music Room, Lendal, York.

The window and interior shop displays are presented by Peter Hudson, music reviewer, lecturer and exhibition organiser, who has a vast archive relating to the American-born Greek soprano.

“The displays feature many rare photographs, music and other music-related items connected to Maria Callas’s tremendously successful but ultimately tragic career,” says Peter.

This Callas memorial event already has visited Edinburgh, Manchester, Leeds and Harrogate and the exhibition will run in York from July 20 for two months.
