LIVE comedy takes over Screen One of City Screen on Tuesday night when two nominees for the 2009 Edinburgh Comedy Awards unite for “a double bill for the price of one”.

Reprising last summer’s show, Relax Everyone, It’s Carl Donnelly, Donnelly will apply a conversational style to his tales of life as a 21st century slacker. On television, he has appeared on Russell Howard’s Good News, Grouchy Young Men and the BBC’s The Noughties series last Christmas, and the next series of BBC2’s Mock The Week awaits his contributions.

Canadian Pete Johansson is venturing out on his first British tour with his Edinburgh show Naked Pictures Of My Life. Since arriving in Britain in 2008, he has become a favourite at London’s Comedy Store with his anecdotal humour and laidback, ironic delivery, duly recording his live CD there, and he has popped up on BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends and in a starring role opposite Ed Byrne in BBC4’s Sex Bombs too.

In Naked Pictures Of My Life, Johansson will illustrate the embarrassing developments of his life story so far and reveal how he has acquired his “happy-apathy” attitude.

Tickets for Tuesday’s show can be booked on 0871 704 2054 or picturehouses.co.uk
