YORK comedy promoter James Christopher is looking forward to Tuesday’s Comedy Gold @ The Golden Fleece to “ease your way back into the working week after the Easter break”.
The headline act is one of Scotland’s fastest-rising stars, Chris Forbes, who was a finalist in the televised Laugh Off at Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Club in Toronto and starred in the BBC Scotland sitcom Dear Green Place.
“However, he’s best known for his stand-up comedy, which is original, clever and cuttingly satirical,” says James.
Support comes from north east hotshots Tony Jameson and Tony Basnett, plus Midlands newcomer Jacqui Pointon.
“I’ll be on hand with a brand new selection of experimental acoustic folk because, at the last two shows in a row, two different audience members have asked for the compilation as they enjoyed it so much,” says James.
Doors open at 8pm for the 8.30pm start at The Golden Fleece, Pavement, York; admission £4, NUS members £3.
