CANADIAN comedian Katherine Ryan returns to York Barbican tonight after making her debut there in January 2016, in the wake of her three Hyena Lounge gigs in York in 2015.

Ryan, who describes herself as a single mother with too many pets, presented and wrote the Channel 4 series How Did You Get So Rich? earlier this year and appears regularly on BBC One1's QI and Have I Got News For You and Channel 4's Out Of 10 Cats.

Her Netflix Original Comedy Special, Katherine Ryan: In Trouble, filmed at the Hammersmith Eventim Apollo, was released to 190 countries in February, and this year she is co-hosting two back-to-back series of Comedy Central's Your Face Or Mine show with Jimmy Carr.

This year too, Ryan has been a team captain opposite Richard Osman in Channel 4’s panel show Fake News, as well as a regular panellist on BBC Two's topical series Frankie Boyle's New World Order alongside Sara Pascoe. She also co-hosted a BBC Two pilot, That Thing On Friday Night, with Joe Lycett and Romesh Ranganathan.

Ryan is playing York on her Glitter Room tour, her first since her two nationwide British tours of Kathbum, the show she brought to the Barbican after presenting her Glam Role Model show three times at The Duchess in York in 2015.

Tickets for the risque Ryan's 8pm show are on sale on 0844 854 2757, at yorkbarbican.co.uk or in person from the Barbican box office.
