ROB Rouse and Justin Moorhouse are both in Saturday Night Lounge action at The Duchess, in Stonebow, York, this weekend.

Headlining the 8pm bill will be Rouse, as seen on 8 Out Of Ten Cats, Comedy Shuffle with Rob Rouse and Sean Lock’s 15 Storey High and as presenter of the first series of Channel 4's The Friday Night Project.

"Rob has a real talent for characterisation; he can be anything from a one-man soap opera to an anthropomorphic Polish dog, and everything in between," says Hyena Lounge Comedy Club promoter Toby Clouston-Jones.

"But his greatest asset by a long chalk is his unquenchable energy. He just performs the hell out of everything, delivering his act with such force that everyone is dragged along in his slipstream."

Phoenix Nights star Moorhouse is returning to York to open Saturday's line-up in his first British gig since spending the last month in Australia performing at the Melbourne Comedy Festival.

"A firm favourite with the Hyena Lounge audience, Justin's cheeky tales and anecdotes always go down a treat and he demonstrates time and again why he’s one of the very best acts on the comedy circuit," says Toby, "In an ideal world we would happily have him playing the club every week."

Alistair Williams makes his Hyena Lounge debut in the middle slot. "He describes his comedy style as the ramblings of a moron, but Alistair must be doing something right as he's one of the most exciting acts on the UK comedy circuit," reckons Toby.

Hyena Lounge debutant Alistair Williams

"He's an observational storyteller who's been rising through the ranks at a rate of knots after winning the Piccadilly Comedy Club’s New Comedian of the Year 2014 award and reaching the finals of the Amused Moose Laugh Off, Leicester Square New Act and Laughing Horse New Act competitions. Alistair is already on his way to the top."

Danny Deegan will be back on compere duty with his audience banter and tales of being a Lancastrian now living in York. Tickets cost £14 at hyenalounge.com or £16 on the door from 7pm.
