HYENA Lounge Comedy Club favourite Steve Harris headlines this weekend's Saturday Night Lounge line-up at The Duchess, in Stonebow, York.
The past winner of the City Life Comedian Of The Year in Manchester will be joined by David Longley, Tudor Owen and Lloyd Griffith in the 8pm show.
"Steve is one of the most in-demand headline acts in the country, having established his reputation by supporting the likes of Lee Evans, Lee Mack and Peter Kay on their tours," says promoter Toby Clouston-Jones.
David Longley
Longley will open Saturday's gig before heading over to Leeds to play The HiFi Club.
"David is a difficult comedian to define, being one of the few comics able to play to any audience without compromising on his material," says Toby.
"On the one hand, abrasive, rude and insulting, and on the other, articulate, intelligent and disarmingly funny, his towering stage presence and intensity, combined with his cutting wit, have made David one of the most popular circuit comics in the UK.
"A gifted wordsmith with great audience interaction skills, he has a humble silliness which ingratiates him to audiences as he delivers deadpan accounts of his everyday life which are shockingly honest, well considered and divinely funny."
Tudor Owen
Tudor Owen makes his Hyena Lounge debut in the middle slot. "He's a Welsh comedian and TV presenter with a warm and friendly style of comedy," says Toby. "He first performed stand-up in the Welsh language in 1999 and has been performing in English since 2007."
Grimsby-born Lloyd Griffith returns as compere. "He performs at some of the largest clubs in the UK, has appeared on BBC3’s Sweat The Small Stuff’and supported Rob Beckett on his sold-out UK tour," says Toby.
Lloyd Griffith
"By the way, Lloyd is also a professional choral singer and can be heard performing with the choirs of Westminster Abbey, Windsor Castle and various other London groups. What a guy."
