HIP-HOP comedian Doc Brown had to postpone his Hyena Lounge Comedy Club gig in York in April on account of filming commitments with Ricky Gervais.

Filming complete, the 34-year-old London rapper, comedian, actor, screenwriter and voiceover artist has re-arranged the 8pm gig for next Wednesday night at The Duchess, where he will proffer his take on life, love and lyricism in his The Weird Way Round show.

Doc Brown, whose real name is Ben Bailey Smith, has undertaken a sold-out British tour of his Of Mic And Men show, played DS Joe Hawkins in the TV series Law & Order and sung with Ricky Gervais on the Youtube viral hit Equality Street. He has made TV appearances on Live At The Apollo, Russell Howard's Good News, The Inbetweeners, Rev and Derek too.

"The lad is going to become a real star," predicts Hyena Lounge promoter Toby Clouston-Jones.

Tickets for next Wednesday cost £14 online at hyenalounge.com or on the door from 7pm.
