TICKETS are selling quick as a flash for Sarah Millican’s two Outsider shows at York Barbican in September... September 2016, that is .

In seven years, the storytelling South Shields stand-up has risen from winning the Edinburgh Fringe Best Newcomer Award to holding the record as the highest-selling female comedian in the DVD market, notching sales of 700,000 of her tour DVDs.

This autumn, 39-year-old Sarah will head out on her year-long fourth stand-up tour, Outsider, a show that will reveal just how much the North Easterner’s life has changed.

In the past, when you put Sarah Millican outside, she would ask, “Why?”, “Where is the taxi?” and “Do I need a cardie?”, and she would say, “There’ll be wasps”, “I’ve nothing to sit on” and “Can we go home?”. Now, Sarah’s world has moved on; she has outside slippers. What’s more, she can tell a chaffinch from a tit (hey), “but I still can’t tell if it’s an owl or my husband’s asthma,” she says.

Sarah was voted the People’s Choice Queen of Comedy at the 2011 British Comedy Awards and has fronted three series of her BBC2 series The Sarah Millican Television Programme. She guests on such primetime TV shows as The Graham Norton Show, QI, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, The Jonathan Ross Show and Live At The Apollo and has performed at the Royal Variety Performance.

The Outsider tour will run for 119 dates, starting this October and finishing in September 2016. Sarah’s last tour, Home Bird, was seen by more than 200,000 people.
