SIX colleagues from a York property company are to run the Yorkshire Marathon, in aid of a local charity.

The team from S Harrison aim to raise at least £2,000 for Brunswick Organic Nursery and Craft Workshops in Bishopthorpe, which provides rewarding work and skills development for local people with learning difficulties.

Martyn Harrison, company chairman, said: "The place has a brilliant feel and makes a tremendous difference to the lives of those it is designed to help. That’s why we have chosen it to benefit from the funds we raise through our involvement in the Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon later this year.”

The relay runners are Phil Hill, Sam Simpson, Richard Smith, Ann Scott, Gavin Jones and Martyn Harrison. The money they raise will help buy new equipment and facilities to help Brunswick to achieve financial independence.
