I feel compelled to write regarding the campaign to block the sale of the Union Terrace car park.

It enrages me that my grandparents were forced out of their beautiful and much loved home some 50 years ago, as a lot of other families were too, so this car park could be built.

This action robbed my grandparents of their home, and a few of the older residents died shortly after this harsh move.

My father, who is now in his sixties, lost his family home and inheritance, Not only does this make a mockery out of the decision to compulsory purchase these houses and force people from their homes, but further rubs salt into the wound by saying this car park is no longer required.

Was it all for nothing?
