TIME now for those intent on undermining our exit from the European Union, particularly the members of the House of Lords, to be reminded of the following facts of life.

The referendum, conducted in a democratic, transparent manner, resulted in a majority vote to leave - no ifs, no buts, no maybes, no second thoughts.

The general public accepted this decision, expecting politicians to expedite the required procedure without default.

At the last General Election all successful Conservative and Labour MPs were elected via manifestos supporting this decision: Brexit meant Brexit - no conditions, out meant totally out.

Currently the House of Lords consists of people unelected, accountable to no one, but with the power and authority to undermine the democratic wish of the total electorate.

Within this chamber sit failed politicians, has-beens and party hacks, all claiming £300 per day courtesy of the taxpayer.

To avoid further interference into Brexit affairs, the Prime Minister should overnight create 200 new peers, all Brexiteers.

When all necessary legislation achieving our exit has passed into law, their final act would be to instigate the abolition of the House of Lords.
