SOMETIMES one wonders at the reasoning behind politics be it local or national.

At present we have the Labour Party baying for the resignation of the Prime Minister and saying they are ready for power.

Just take a look at their latest newsletter praising the efforts of their candidate for York Outer at the last election, Luke Charters-Reid polled 21,097 votes, increasing the previous vote by 7,700. The Tory majority was slashed from 13,000 to 8,000.

You would expect his reward for all that effort would be at the very least a chance to stand at the next election if he wished, but no what have the party done? Made the next election an all-woman short list of prospective candidates.

And they’re ready for power?
