POPPLETON residents can shape the future of their village by voting in the local referendum on Wednesday in favour of the Neighbourhood Plan for Poppleton.
Do I hear you say “not another one”? This is different.
A group of local residents backed by the parish councils have developed a Neighbourhood Plan for Poppleton. It offers a realistic approach, keeping village character whilst allowing for sensible development.
If agreed by a local referendum this will shape City of York Council’s planning policies for the local area.
The steering group carried out extensive consultation that could help other communities and residents in planning for their local areas.
Although not involved in drawing up the plan, I’ve seen the impressive work they carried out.
I urge all eligible Poppleton residents to vote yes to the Neighbourhood Plan on Wednesday.
It will help their community and the wider residents of York for years to come.
