YORK charity IDAS does wonderful work with local victims of domestic abuse. And it has also demonstrated a knack for getting celebrity endorsements - which raise its profile no end, and so help it in its work.
The most recent of these is the Chocolat author Joanne Harris. She has been a patron of IDAS since 2015. But on October 5 she’ll be coming to York for a fundraising dinner in support of the charity at which she’ll talk about her life and work. More than that, she’ll actually give a reading from Chocolat – something she hasn’t done in nearly 20 years.
This will be IDAS’ first-ever fundraising dinner. It’s quite a way to start.
