THERE’S a reason we talk about people learning ‘lifesaving skills’. Such techniques really can help save lives.
As with most skills, it is best to start young. So it is great to see a record-breaking number of secondary schools across Yorkshire have signed up for their pupils to get lifesaving CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training.
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service will visit 138 schools - including 32 in York and North Yorkshire - on Restart a Heart Day. That’s a lot of potential lifesavers - and maybe a lot of saved lives in future.
