LIKE Philip Roe (Letters, March 17) I was perturbed by the Turks demonstrating in Rotterdam.
You wonder how President Erdogan of Turkey - an intolerant, anti-European Union, ultra-nationalist - was able to get Turks living at peace in the democratic Netherlands to go out on to the streets to wave flags and proclaim their Turkish patriotism, during the Dutch parliamentary election.
It is not surprising that a majority of the Dutch voted against their own ultra-nationalist, anti-EU candidate.
