IN reply to Peter Rickaby’s letter (The Press, March 20), the fault now is that students can go into teacher training with poor A-level results.
When I decided to teach it was vital that at least a B was attained in English and other subjects before you could even be considered for a place.
No wonder standards have more than slipped.
