I FIND it incredulous that one of the most important parts of York Minster, a religious icon, has been silenced.
The peal of bells has for centuries guided wayfarers and welcomed citizens into the Minster’s portals for sanctuary of prayer.
The Minster was built and maintained from its conception by the blood, sweat and tears of the people, along with financial support from the tax paying public and voluntary contributions.
Let common sense prevail.
