ON Tuesday last, my wife and I spent a day within the delightful cricket ground at Stamford Bridge to watch Yorkshire Second XI against the MCC Universities XI.
There were some wonderful, talented young cricketers on show, a delight to see.
During the last Test series between England and Pakistan play was expected and advertised at 90 overs per day. Very rarely was this achieved, short changing the public on a regular basis.
At Stamford Bridge the youngsters, without breaking sweat, managed 104 overs.
Now is the time for the ECB, chairman Colin Graves, ex-Yorkshire and Dunnington, to give the public what they demand - value for money, and insist the well paid players at Test level fulfil their obligations.
