LAST Thursday afternoon, I was referred to A&E at York Hospital, where staff went through a detailed assessment process, located a bleed on my brain and arranged urgent ambulance transfer to the neurological unit at Hull.
I had an operation at midnight that day and I’m already at home.
I want to pay tribute to the professionalism, speed and kindness with which people in A&E, the stroke team, the medical team, the support staff and the ambulance team - as well as their colleagues in Hull - all dealt with the case.
Our NHS is truly wonderful.
