I HAVE just read the letter from Christian Vassie regarding the Brexit vote and the ‘facts’ of this vote (Letters, July 27).
He states that the population of the UK is 65.1 million. That may be a true fact, but that includes everyone including children who obviously can’t vote.
A much more correct fact would have been to use the total number of the electorate. So quite obviously his facts aren’t worth the paper they are written on.
I would suggest, as usual, this misinformation is being generated by people and politicians who are past masters at spinning a lot of untruths just to get their own way, but one thing is absolutely correct in Mr Vassie’s letter and that is facts matter (as long as they are more of a reflection of the true situation).
Brexit is the way forward, the electorate has spoken, move on, embrace the world and make the UK great again.
Trying to undo a democratic vote could have dire consequences for our country, especially when the lives of our fine men and women have laid their lives down throughout the world in the pursuit of democracy for others.
