I WOULD like to praise Douglas Craig for his comments about the situation regarding York City Knights and the problem at Bootham Crescent (The Press, July 26).

That there was no response from the football club was no surprise.

Welcome to the club Mr Craig. Anyone who asks a question never gets an answer. Even if you say you will accept an answer in The Press, as I did last Thursday while speaking at the full council meeting.

He also says both clubs will have to work together at the new stadium, but what chance is there when the only olive branch offered is to buy out the club.

There have been problems since this joint use started. They have already indicated it is likely to happen again, and City also have a record of achievement pointed out superbly by Mr Craig.

If the council are eager to help, then they should be getting on with it post haste and not creating more problems.
