WITH reference to William Moore’s letter (The Press, July 13), he makes no mention of the broken promises made by David Cameron.
In 2015, for the first time in over 50 years, I voted Tory based on promises made in Mr Cameron’s pre-election manifesto.
He promised to curb immigration, reform UK’s membership conditions in the EU and reduce the numbers in the House of Lords.
He failed on all three. In fact, he increased the membership of the Lords so that the Tories got a majority in that House.
As for Mr Moore accusing Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage of jumping ship, Boris was stabbed in the back by one of his fellow MPs and Nigel had achieved his political ambition of establishing an independent United Kingdom.
Unlike Mr Cameron who, before the referendum result said, whatever the outcome he would abide by the wishes of the British public and see it through.
He was so confident of the result going his way, but when it didn’t he could not get out quick enough.
