I AM sure that I speak for many people when I say how sad it is to see the small Heron supermarket go from Stonebow.
The shop was outstanding value, had lovely staff and was handy for the bus stops, all the things York people need.
It is a pity then that City of York Council could not somehow help them to find another suitable premises in the centre, as it is only due to the so-called redevelopment of Stonebow that they are having to close.
Instead of authorising countless bars, cafes etc, why not help a thriving business to continue to supply something that York council tax payers actually want for a change?
Now that would be a novelty.
