PLEASE, please help.

On Saturday I experienced a very emotional and memorable day as 17 young men arrived at Northampton Town’s Sixfields Stadium after cycling 170 miles from Bootham Crescent through atrocious weather conditions, especially on Saturday morning.

Some of these lads had witnessed a Northampton fan suffering a fatal heart attack at a match between the two clubs at Sixfields in 2014 and decided to do this ride for the British Heart Foundation in memory of this supporter.

This is the second year they’ve done this and to think these lads had taken two days off from their jobs - possibly some losing wages - was truly admirable.

Seeing these lads arriving, soaking wet, splattered in mud and freezing cold was something I (a very proud nana) will never forget. They then collected money from fans, shaking with cold.

I saw one lad break down in tears from sheer exhaustion and relief - they’d made it.

They need donations to reach their target so please if you can help in some way, however small, please donate to www.justgiving.com/ridetonorthampton2 - myself and the lads would be truly grateful. Thank you so much.
