RITA CROMBLEHOLME and I agree again (Letters, November 20).
Except we don’t just need a central bus station. We need a central transport hub, including trains too.
Britain pays far too much lip service to integrated transport systems, and does precious little about it. York is a case in point.
Let’s apply a bit of logic. There’s no way on earth the railway station is going to move. If the trains can’t go to where the buses are, the buses must go to where the trains are.
The bus station should be near the existing railway station. What are the options? The only practicable place I can see is the long-stay car park.
Has anybody got any better ideas? I doubt it, but I am all ears.
Why not just get on with it? Perhaps City of York Council might care to comment.
