JESSIE'S fund is 20 this year and what better way to celebrate than with a new grant? The York charity is named after Jessica George, who died of a rare and inoperable brain tumour at the age of 10. Because she loved music, her fund is dedicated to offering musical therapy that helps children communicate and express themselves at special schools.

The £25,000 grant comes from the owners of Classic FM and will be used to support Soundtracks, a programme where specialist musicians work with pupils and teachers to produce high quality performances. It will also give the charity a chance to tell its story on the radio.

What a wonderful birthday present.
