I HAVE a much better idea than rushing ahead with the demolition of Huntington Stadium to save empty rates charges (The Press, August 26).

Instead, scrap the overblown Community Stadium project that has got completely out of hand.

Cancel the inappropriate restaurants, cinemas and retail units. Save us all from millions of debt for years to come.

Then take the planning gain money already received from the Vangarde development and use it to make good Huntington Stadium and Bootham Crescent; and restore Waterworld.
