IT is nearly two weeks since the Tour de Yorkshire, and I would like to add my two penn’orth.

While I had to make other arrangements as my street closed, I did not mind on seeing the pleasure the race brought to the spectators, but there were a couple of disappointments for myself.

One was after the race passed my street, I walked back to my house and followed the race on the TV. Where was my favourite commentator Phil Liggett? Now David Miller was a decent rider, but I am sorry to say not a minefield of information like our Phil.

The other incident which upset me was the disgusting state that some of the spectators left the moat in, opposite the White Swan pub.

Not satisfied to chill out while the race returned, they used bread trays to try and create the Cresta Run.

Considering the damage that has been left, all the flowers that have been ripped up, I hope that if we have another race steps to prevent this happening again will be put in place.
