STONE GONE: What use for that stone now? Reader John Simpson wonders if former Labour leader Ed Miliband might wish to donate the ‘Ed Stone’ to the York Minster stonemasons
IN CASUAL conversation with York Minster stonemasons last year, they told me that new limestone was costing them approximately £3,000 per square metre, to buy in.
If this is correct, the Labour Party could give the famous Ed Stone to York Minster to recycle.
We might not have got Richard III, but maybe we can get the Ed Stone?
