I HAVE often wondered why Heather Causnett has such a poor opinion of women, and mothers, in particular.

Just about every letter she writes is blaming these ladies for everything she considers to be wrong with their children.

They seem not to be able to do anything right in her eyes but things have changed, and we older ones may not like everything, but it is a fact.

Also, does Mrs Causnett not realise that there are usually two parents? Both are equally responsible for the upbringing of their children.

I recall reading some time ago that Mrs Causnett was fortunate in her day not to have to go out to work when her children were young, so probably considered it her ‘job’ to bring up baby, and possibly her husband didn’t get a look in as he was out doing ‘his job’.

Many women today don’t have that choice because one salary will not support a family and mortgage/rent, council tax, gas, water, electricity, food and everything else needed.

Walking along with a pram and having a phone stuck to the ear or smoking a cigarette doesn’t look good, and it would be better to chat to the child, but most children grow up to be responsible, law-abiding people who love their parents.

Those mums don’t deserve the lambasting they get from Mrs Causnett. Everyone does things their own way.
